Pilot Corporation

In 1918, the professor of the Tokyo College of Merchant Shipping, Ryosuke Namiki, conceived the idea of ​​improving the writing tools that he, his students and colleagues had to use on a daily basis. Having created a new model of the pen and signed a partnership agreement with his colleague Masao Wada, he formed the company "Production company NAMIKI". In 1926, NAMIKI Corporation entered the world market and opened its branches in London, New York, Shanghai and Singapore, and a year later the fountain pens ceased to be the only commodity position in the company's assortment: the first mechanical pencils and inks of their own production were introduced.
